The Story Behind

Founded in 2019, HWTenergy is a startup based in Victoria, British Columbia, working under the VIATEC incubator supervision. We use our knowledge and skills in renewable energy and turbomachine design to create new ways to generate electricity from river currents. Our products are for both businesses and regular consumers.

We aimed to create water turbines that are easy to use and can produce a maximum possible amount of energy. To achieve this, we started researching, developing, and making different prototypes. Our goal was to make a product that could generate electricity with minimal changes to the natural environment. After making three different products with capacities of 20 kilowatts, 5 kilowatts, and 20 watts, we learned a lot. Using this knowledge, we developed a model that solved the problems of previous models and could generate electricity without needing infrastructure.

Our water turbines are designed for places with reliable water sources, allowing them to run continuously and produce electricity as long as there is water flow. Unlike solar systems, our water turbines can generate electricity 24/7. With their long life and low maintenance costs, these turbines are one of the most efficient and popular ways to produce energy.

Our turbines have a modular design, with each module capable of generating 200 to 500 watts. These modules can be connected to provide different power outputs, meeting the various needs of our customers.

To achieve higher energy outputs, small and large infrastructures in the riverbed are necessary, but it is possible to generate electricity from the continuous flow of the river 24/7 without changing the environment and with minimal damage. This can be a solution for providing electricity in remote areas and a good alternative to diesel generators.

At HWT energy, we know how important reliable electric power is for nature lovers and off-grid users. Our mission is to make sure that, no matter why you lack access to electricity, you can get the power you need to keep going without interruption.
